As Joan Miró said, art is in crisis from the caveman.
[source]Is contemporary art still able to produce the new ?
where do you see it for example ?
for example, Anselm Kiefer
interesting. Can you describe where do you see the new in his work ?
the materiality of his work

It is a magnificent art that I could photograph, I do not know who the creator was but he deserves some applause 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I wouldnt rule that out but I have to say that to me it seems that most new artworks these days have been there in a way especially aesthetically speaking. It might be imposible to create something completely new, yet very often after visiting exhibition after exhibition I feel that art is rather stagnant right now. Mark Fisher wrote that neoliberal capitalism is to blame for that since it took the artist of his freedom to create with less focus in what might be commercialy successful. What do you think about 'the new' in art ?
In terms of western art history, there are new and old. When you come out of that structure, you get a different perspective. Whether new to me is fresh to me. How to think about the structure is a personal experience. I think new art is also discovered from personal experiences.

Yes something new. Something which isn't a pastiche or, a remix of something old or in a way was already there. Something which expands the space of art in a way.
so you’ve seen this before?
aesthetically speaking I feel like I did. A personal fatigue for visual media probably plays a role in that too though.
Is something being new or not an issue?
Not necessarily no. Im also aware that (probably) something can't be 100% . But my current train thought is coming from the idea of 'hauntology' especially as it is defined by Mark Fisher. Basically the idea is that since there is no 'new' many people fall back to old narratives and outdated utopic ideas. Maybe even more so given the different crises the planet and humanity is going trough right now. What I observed (subjectively, in the bubbles I move around in ) that there seems to be a lack of hope, a bleak outlook on the future. No narrative giving somewhat of a positive direction. Maybe the times of big narratives are simply over. But still coming back to the 'newness' of art I'm wondering if art could help developing this missing hope for the future and if so, how ?
I’m getting a grasp of what you’re saying but I’m foggy on what “new” means and how you would define it. I have also noticed the pervasive lack of hope you have mentioned, or rather it might be an acceptance of looming doom in general. However, it is a broad sense of doom with many narratives. I think that hope comes from the individual and where his spirit finds it. In regards to art, I agree that the cohesive narrative has been on the decline in one sector - the lineage that stems from back to the Impressionists, but in a parallel sector you have the socio-political commentators who can bring nothing to the table BUT reminders of our cold, bleak and troubled existence. This is the work that I think should be rejected. From my view, the solution to your problem lies in the continued evolution of reducing these narratives to use art to create a space, a barrier outside the world. By reducing contextual narratives, we are left with a more pure image of existence, which I believe for art is a more appropriate and more interesting way to reach the heart.

[source]Is contemporary art still able to produce the new ?
Do you think that nowadays its still possible to create art which hasn't been there before in a way or another ? Something which isn't heavily remniscent of old aesthetics or which has been done in some way already.
you ask big question. Please go further
New Genres, new cultural movements which try to push the limits instead of joining traditions of certain aesthetics and artistic practices or being a pastiche. What do you think ?
you know, one day a guy says
every artist start by copying something or someone... After that who will be able to mark his era with a dedicated style or "new" (I don't like this word in this context, because nothing is really new) movement ? This is the question ! Only time will tell us.

Is art for you a way to form or reflect about identity ?
Form is important but form without deeply thought is not art for me.

no.the theme is space exploration 🤔

I think the word art for late-capitalist would be anything that could and will shell out a product to be consumed if an artist cannot print consumables then he/she is no artist but a waste of time. So if the Late-capitalist would rather look to disbelieve that art exist shouldn’t a real artist push back and not become a consumable?

it's multifaceted and disorienting
