I think the problem lies in the distance of artistic language with ordinary people
Thank you for your reply. Very often it seems like art is created for artist. Do you think there is a solution to this ? Should there even be an solution in your opinion ?
making art is always self-referencing
could you explain this a bit more ?

Well, I’m not that I can speak for others, but I like the majority of art galleries that I come across. Especially, in Atlanta. But there are definitely some galleries that seem to snub anything dingy or gritty and those galleries feel too clean and disinfected almost. They make me feel unwelcome as a human being that has bodily functions and genuine emotions. But art doesn’t always have to live in a gallery. In fact, I’m in love with Atlanta because most of the art is found as murals, graffiti, sculptures, tagged electrical boxes, and some of the best art I’ve ever seen hangs in coffee shops and eclectic dive bars. My favorite art galleries are the ones like Facet, DooGallery, Mammal Gallery, Wonderroot, Eyedrum, etc. Then, you have coffee shops like Hodgepodge and Octane. 😄😃😜🤪🤓 Art brings hope and happiness and brings people together. It’s much better when the fruit is out of the fridge and “on the vine.” 😁 I hope that’s an acceptable answer. 🙃

~ Galleries are not the art!
But they are still the major places for art to be shown to the public aren't they ? But then again Im looking at your work trough instagram and could look at million other works of other artists as well.
~ Some say the traditional gallery is on its way out!

any thoughts on the matter ?
i make art for me. Not the galleries. I think that galleries are important because the work looks different and better in person than on a phone screen. People go to galleries to buy art. You may not care because your not a collector

Humans are Creators.. it is our Nature... the Relevance? If we don’t have an Outlet for Creativity the World 🌍 WILL STOP 🛑 TURNING... mental illness reigns supreme and life is jist a Bag o Shite... We/ Humans Create... it is what marks us different from other Animals and in my opinion, it is WHY we have Opposable Thumbs.

I don’t make are for galleries, I make it for me - because I love it.
what are your thoughts on plattforms like instagram where can show your work without the need for an gallery ? Since you create (correct me if Im wrong) for your own enjoyment out of intrinsic motivation what role does exhibiting play for you ?
I think platforms like Insta and FB and others just make it easier for more artists to get exposure.
[source]Most people dont care about art galleries. what does that mean for the relevance of art?
it’s not in an art gallery, it’s in a museum archive, that’s open to the public.
[source]Most people dont care about art galleries. what does that mean for the relevance of art?
most people don’t care about nearly everything and everyone yet everything and everyone remains somehow relevant

[source]Most people dont care about art galleries. what does that mean for the relevance of art?

[source]Most people dont care about art galleries. what does that mean for the relevance of art?
art is as relevant as it’s ever been, whether it’s in a gallery, on the side of a building, or in the hands of a kid holding a comic or children’s book. Even if it was irrelevant, we’d keep making it, because the point isn’t to be relevant, it’s to get out what’s inside of you.
the methods for distribution and display have changed but the art is still strong.
